Renee Mattson

Doctoral Student

Renee is pursuing her doctorate in educational studies with a concentration in developmental and learning sciences at the University of Cincinnati. As a doctoral student, her research interests center on embedding evidence based coaching practices into special education teacher preparation programs supports for children with executive function needs including visual supports, communication, and cognitive behavioral supports.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and special education from Xavier University, and a Master’s in Education from Xavier University in special education. As a licensed intervention specialist, Renee has worked as an educator in both public and private schools, and has previously worked as an adjunct professor of special education at Xavier University.
